Maryland to Offer Foreclosure Information Session in Frederick
By kevin | May 7, 2008
Citing the lack of assistance for Maryland citizens and the lack of information and effective resources being provided to help homeowners avoid foreclosure, a new foreclosure prevention / education meeting is being held by the Maryland Department of Licensing, Labor and Regulation in Frederick, Maryland on Monday night. The meeting will help to inform citizens of their rights and options when facing foreclosure.
Despite that recently both state and federal bills have made more assistance available to homeowners in default and in danger of foreclosure, critics are saying that the problem is that the people who need these services most are not made aware of them. The purpose of the informational meeting is to make it known to people in Maryland what they can do when faced with a foreclosure. Most of the attention on the foreclosure scene in the state has been focused on the ravaged capital of Baltimore, but a great deal of other areas in Maryland have had rising foreclosure rates for some time as well.
This sort of effort is what many feel it is going to take for people to start realizing how to deal with the problem of foreclosure. Federal and state assistance is only going to be effective if people know about it.
